June 30, 2025 — For the first time since the season opener back on February 1, the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series presented by Franklin Enterprises will be in the Volunteer State over the upcoming Independence Day weekend! A pair of SAS events will be held on Thursday night, July 3 at I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, Tennessee and on Saturday evening, July 5 at Mountain View Raceway in Spring City, Tennessee. With a $5,000 top prize up for grabs at I-75 and a $4,000 winner’s check on the line at Mountain View plus additional bonuses, one lucky driver could walk away with $13,000 in earnings over the holiday weekend.
In the nine Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series races held so far in 2025, there have been seven different winners. Only Dillon Tidmore (Winder-Barrow Speedway, North Alabama Speedway) and Cory Hedgecock (I-75 Raceway, Penton Raceway) have reached victory lane twice this year. Single race winners on the SAS tour include Joseph Joiner (Southern Raceway), Ryan Crane (Southern Raceway), Billy Franklin (West Alabama Speedway), Zack Mitchell (North Georgia Speedway), and Tucker Anderson (Sugar Creek Raceway).
At I-75 Raceway on Thursday, the pit area and tier parking will open at 4:00pm and the grandstands will open at 5:00pm. The drivers meeting is set for 6:15pm and hot laps will take to the racetrack at 6:45pm. Adult admission is $20.00 into the grandstands, $30.00 into tier parking, and $40.00 into the pits. Kids ages 6-11 will be admitted into the stands for $10.00, into tier parking for $15.00, and into the pits for $20.00. Children ages 5 and under will be admitted for FREE.
Along with a $5,000 paycheck for the Super Late Models, other classes in action will be the 604 Late Models ($1,000 to win), Street Stocks ($1,000 to win), Open Wheel Modifieds ($800 to win), 602 Late Models ($700 to win), and Front Wheel Drives ($400 to win). There will also be a huge fireworks extravaganza by Cougar Fireworks during the program. I-75 Raceway is located at 1791 Highway 68 in Niota, Tennessee. On Saturday at Mountain View, the Super Late Models will vie for a $4,000 first place prize, while the Sportsman, Open Wheel Modified, Front Wheel Drive, JR FWD, and Mod Mini divisions are also on the racing card. The pit gates will swing open at 3:00pm and all other gates will start to allow fans into the facility at 4:00pm. The drivers meeting is scheduled for 6:15pm and hot laps will light up the racetrack at 6:30pm.
Admission into both the grandstands and tier parking will be $20.00 for adults and $10.00 for kids ages 6-11. A pit pass will be $40.00 for adults and $25.00 for kids ages 6-11. Body rules and the Droop Rule will be the same as those agreed on by both the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series – among others. Any driver not advancing into the feature field will receive $75.00 in tow money.
