April 10, 2024 — The Rogers-Dabbs Performance Parts Crate Racin’ USA Dirt Late Model Series and Late Model Sportsman Tour will now both compete on Saturday, April 20th at the I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, Tenn. This one day show will bring the best 604 and 602 late model drivers in the south to the volunteer state for a night of action packed racing. The Crate Racin’ USA Dirt Late Model Series will compete for a $4,000 to-win main event and the Late Model Sportsman Tour will compete for a $2,000 to-win feature.
Although this will be the inaugural visit for the Rogers Dabbs Performance Parts Crate Racin’ USA Late Model Sportsman Tour, this will be the seventh all-time visit for the headlining 604 division. The series last visited back on June 2nd of 2023 and Cory Hedgecock of Louden, Tenn. captured the checkered flag over Ricky Weiss, Chip Brindle, Mark Whitener, and Blake Craft. The series first visited the Sweetwater, Tenn. facility back on September 15th of 2015 and Louden, Tenn. driver Matt Henderson was victorious over Cory Hedgecock and Anthony White.
The newly formed Rogers Dabbs Crate Racin USA Late Model Sportsman Tour will also have series bonus money up for grabs throughout the night including a $100 Fast-Time award thanks to BMF Race Cars, a $100 Hard-Charger Award thanks to Eagle Racing Engines, and a $100 Tough Luck Award will be given to the driver that exits the feature first due to bad luck on the track, thanks to Hickman Manufacturing.
The East Tennessee facility sets just 49 miles west of Knoxville, Tenn. and just off I-75 in Sweetwater. Most recently the track has changed ownership and under new owner Eugene Lankford the track has begun to grow tremendously. I75 will see not only weekly racing throughout the 2024 season, but more major touring series as well on the 2024 schedule.
“Being able to race in Tennessee is very important to us, having the addition of I75 Raceway to our 604 touring schedule and our 602 Late Model Sportsman Tour was a easy decision when the option arrived. We have started to grow in the state with consistent races at Thunderhill Raceway Park in Summertown, Tenn. and 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, Tenn.. We also get to visit one of the most unique track in the state Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, Tenn. on May 18th, we originally planned to be there last season, but mother nature got the best of us. So we didn’t hesitate when the opportunity was given to return to I75 Raceway, plus Eugene and his staff have done some great things already and we’re excited to see the facility grow and glad to be a small part of it.” series director Adam Stewart said.
