September 27, 2025 — USCS National Point leader Dale Howard of Byhalia, MS drove to his tenth series win of the season on Saturday night in the 25-lap Main Event for the United Sprint Car Series Outlaw Thunder Tour Presented By Hoosier Racing Tire at I-75 Raceway. Howard is now closing in on the USCS National Championship with his 36th USCS career win.
Howard took the lead from 16-time USCS National Champion and National Sprint Car Hall of Fame Inductee Terry Gray of Bartlett, TN on lap three, and never looked back. Gray finished second followed by Tyler Blankenship of Bakersfield, CA in the third spot.
Chase Howard of Nesbit, MS started seventh and finished fourth to earn the Wilwood Disc Brakes Hard Charger of the Race Award. Jeff Willingham of Ripley, MS took the fifth spot, and sixth went to Joe Larkin of Suwanee, GA. Coen McDaniel of Gaffney, SC was seventh and third generation racer P.J. Reutimann of Zephyrhills, FL finished eighth.
Dirt Late Model star Mike Marlar of Winfield, TN made his second Sprint Car start in Dale Howard’s backup car and brought it home in the ninth spot. Ronnie Howard of Nesbit, MS rounded out the top ten.
In preliminary action, Gray won the six-lap Hoosier Racing Tire Speed Dash to earn the Pole Position for the 25-lap Feature Race. The two eight-lap Heat Races were won by McDaniel in the Engler Machine & Tool First Heat, and Blankenship in the Butlerbuilt Second Heat.
Gray took the lead from the pole position at the start of the race, followed the outside front row starter Dale Howard, Blankenship, Kyle Connery of Vero Beach, FL and McDaniel. Dale Howard made what would be his winning move on lap three passing Gray for the lead. McDaniel was able to pass Connery for fourth on lap five.
Connery dropped out of the race while running fifth on lap eight, and that moved Willingham up into the top five. The only caution flag of the race came out on lap 12 when Ronny Howard stalled in turn three. The top five for the restart was Dale Howard, Gray, Blankenship, McDaniel and Willingham.
Chase Howard raced his way into the top five by passing Willingham on lap 24. Dale Howard was able to take a 2.411 second margin of victory under the checkered flag in a race that took ten minutes and 2.483 seconds to complete. The finish was reshuffled after the race when McDaniel drove past the tech area and was penalized from fourth to seventh as the last car running at the finish.
